The Playwright & Director

Being intimately connected with theatre as director and actor, he is endowed with that rare insight that is necessary for any playwright. It is the secret of the stage-worthiness of his plays and their popularity with the audiences, while retaining highest literary standards:

  • Authored fifteen plays in Hindi language;

  • All plays have been staged almost all over the country, and also abroad by various theatre groups, under different directors;

  • Plays have been translated in Punjabi, Oriya, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, English and Malayalam languages.

  • Around hundred articles published on art, culture, language, heritage, etc. in various magazines.

 

A retired officer of I.A.S., he has long been associated with the administration of institutions of Art, literature & Culture. He is credited with building highly conducive atmosphere for the growth of a whole generation of poets, painters, writers, theatre workers and intellectuals.
